My lesson programs are customized to each rider with their goals in mind. Whether it be a future trail rider, barrel racer, team roper, Team penner, English, etc......a good foundation of horsemanship skills will ALWAYS pave the way to success. Teaching my riders how to gain respect from a horse as well as problem prevention in their horse is my specialty. I always stress safety and offer solutions to problems that might arise in certain situations, therefore preparing the rider for most predictable problems that might arise with their horse and how to avoid those problems in the first place. Lessons are offered on my horses or yours. I have different levels of horses to fit any rider for almost any event.

My team roping lessons are customized for beginners that want to start with a solid foundation without ever developing bad habits that can lead to injuries. Beginner students will start on a roping dummy, then move to a live "lead" steer with a safety rope until they have all of the basic steps down perfectly before they will enter the roping box to rope. I also offer help to the Intermediate roper that needs help with their horse to get them working properly and KEEP them working sound/quiet at jackpots. Correcting bad box behaviour, ducking off, nervousness are some of the things that I can help you with, sometimes just one lesson will give you enough information to work on the horse yourself (depending on your ability). Dont go to an expensive professional roping school until you build a good foundation first, you will get more for your money if you go to a pro school with at least the basics down first.

This is Cody at his first big jackpot (after turning his first steer just 2 weeks prior to this). The lessons he had before coming out of the box prepared him about 90% and the rest was easy. His form and good habits were already in place by the time he started out of the box. He is riding one of my lesson/rope horses named Gator.  After just 2  weeks of turning steers, Cody won first place in a #6 R4R roping, taking home almost $400 and his first buckle! Just 2 weeks later he recieved 3rd place in another jackpot! He gets a lot of compliments from his heelers on how well he handles the steers for them! WAY TO GO CODY!

Hi Becky I was just getting on the computer to THANK YOU for an amazing day!
And you had already written.  Jess is already planning her training (i will tell
her to read what you wrote first) You are quite the incredible individual and an
amazing teacher.  She kept asking what you thought of her.  Now i can tell her
to read.  She must really value you and your opinion as she wanted to know what
you thought  and to be honest she never once asked that same question when we
were at the "other trainers".  She really enjoyed the one on one time.  I am learning
to let her fly on her own (i am really trying to not intrude. I hope i am
suceeding)  She is currently looking at roping saddles.  She really likes your
pony.  Maybe she can try her for some of the time next lesson?
I will let you know when we can come out again and if it works for you.
We too are burnt to a crisp and exhausted and dehydrated but happy and
excited for the next time!
Thanks again.
Susan and Jessica.
